Review before it ships
A definition changed. Nobody was asked.
Data models change the way everything else changes: somebody edits, and it lands. The difference is that nothing downstream refuses to build, so nothing announces it. A figure starts meaning something else, and the first person to find out is whoever is asked to explain it.
By then the change is buried in a history nobody reads, the person who made it had a good reason, and what the term meant before is a conversation to reconstruct rather than a thing to look up.
What changes
Changing what a number means stops being something that happens to everyone downstream. It is put to somebody who can say no, and agreed before anything depending on it moves.
The record is the half that lasts. What a term meant before, what it means now and who agreed to it are questions with an answer, which is what anybody auditing the estate is actually asking for.
What it rests on
One entry in the catalog, and what it lets you do.
An AI Readiness Review
A scoping conversation, and a look at your data estate as it stands: what your AI plans will need from it, where the gaps are, and which of them to close first. The findings are yours either way.
